Iran, Poland to boost ties in industry sector

TEHRAN, Sep. 27 (MNA) – Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said that Iran and Poland have the capacity to expand ties in industry and mine sectors.

Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh made the remarks in a meeting with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Janusz Piechocinski and added “Grounds are paved for boosting Iran-Poland relations and the two nations can cooperate in different fields namely railway industries, transportation, mining and energy efficiency sectors, agriculture and food, machinery, shipbuilding as well as technical equipments.”

The minister also welcomed the formation of Iran-Poland business forum saying that it is a great step for expansion of relations.

For his part, Janusz Piechocinski said: “Our trip to Iran was not only for selling goods but we also tend to purchase Iranian goods; investment is among our plans as well.”

He added that the two countries should enhance economic ties.

Poland will support Iran in the European Union, he said and noted: “We will do our best to expand ties between both countries.”

An exhibition is supposed to be held in fall with the participation of Iranian investors while next year Polish investors will attend Iran’s agriculture fair, he said.

A high-level Polish delegation, including pharmaceutical, chemical and railway executives is in Tehran to discuss post-sanctions trade opportunities.

Poland’s economy minister is leading the group of some 60 businesses, including railway transport firms, Newag and Pesa.
